I was just quoted $350 for both cylinder heads to be rebuilt, which includes surfacing, stem seals, new exhaust valves, and rebuilding the exhaust valve seats.

They run $175 each, but I wouldn't recommend just getting one rebuilt.

The place is Montana Engine Rebuilders, 213 N 10th avenue, Billings MT, 406 - 248 - 5496.

Thanks alot for digging up that info for me! I really appreciate it.

I'm guessing a lot of that $700 I was quoted is labor... I might be interested in trying it myself, but I'd probably have a hard time finding enough time to do it.

I've seen the High Plains Drifters in several signature lines and wondered what it was... now I know and will add myself into the club.

The quote I gave includes labor. I checked.

You are the first Helena guy we've had, I'm sure there will be more.

Wow, that's even a better deal. I plan to check what shop locally my mechanic uses for heads...

its a great deal any way you look at it, I've heard nothing but good stuff from this shop, and they have been around for 23 years, so they are definetly a better deal in town.
