True. I picked up a lever-action .45 Colt a few months ago. I'm thinking that'd be effective out here. Frankly, my eyes just ain't good enough much past 100yds though, so maybe I oughtta go with the scoped SKS.
I got a CZ-52 handgun at the same time I got the .45 Colt. I'd like to take that thing out varmint hunting. I'd be a bit more challenging, but that 7.62x25 sure shoots flat for a handgun. Not many auto-loaders send bullets down range at 1600+ fps.
I knew some guys that wanted me to go spotlighting with them in the hills outside of Abserokee, and they wanted me to bring the hi-cap 9mm, but if I'm gonna do that with a handgun, I'll take the added speed of the CZ-52.

I'm considering getting a couple extra tags myself, too. Don't know exactly what, yet...but probably get a couple, anyway...got my spring bear and turkey tags, now just gotta go huntin...wanna git the bird at least, with my bow...we'll see about the bear...i've got a 7mm Rem. Mag for that, if need be...as for elk hunting...everywhere i go hunting, i have a chance of cutting elk sign, so that's a must-have tag...

thats the only thing I don't like about our system, its geared towards nonresidents. Most of those guys are rich enough that they can take a week off work to come to MT and chase a moose for a while, shoot it, get a couple pics and leave.
I am supposed to have a few days off per week, and thats what I was hoping would continue, but one of my managers quit, so now I don't think I'd get any time off until they hire somebody else.
and royce can verify that the crit r git r is well tuned up, .25" groups.....
