somebody said something, so I will share

Somebody mentioned derby cars on a forum and I got all excited, so I will share just a bit.

Here are a couple pictures of my derby cars. I have been doing them since I was 15. I went to the nationals in Witchita Ks. in 98. I ****ed down my leg, but still had fun. The shinny car is a 66 New Port, I was asked to fix up a "Show car-Derby car" and this is what I built. It was at promo's, in the paper, at radio things like when you go to Casey's for the Nebraska lottery and spin the wheel, they have all kinds of specials and stuff, I was there. I was the pace car at the North PLatte speedway on the weekends for the A features. Parades and other things, I had fun. I went to a car show and got a prize for People choice. It had a $2000 paint job. THen I wrecked the crap out of it. THe other pic is my 440, built to 485hp. 30 over flat tops, 509 lift cam, 1967 closed chambered heads, 2.18 intake and 1.81 exhuast triple angle valves. Bronze guides and titanium retainers. Crane springs good for a 600 lift. ported and polished, heated cored and anything else you want. Team-G intake ported to match heads, holley 500 Street Competition 2 barrel beefed up to flow 600cfm. Hope you like!!

I go to Demo Derbys quite often around Vienna and Cuba, MO I also help my brother-in-law get his car ready. Does anyone have any tricks to build the front and rear real tuff like stuffing the front with solid steel and cover it with the black tar in a spray can so the judges can't see what you did.

I did a search for you at IDDA (International Demlolition Derby ***.). After looking at any of the topics, if you want to look around, go to home and scroll down to the main forums....ie. chevy, chrysler, ford, compact and so on. Enjoy.
