Matching Interior Plastic Paint
LAST EDITED ON 30-Nov-00 AT 10:44 PM (EST)[p]I'm in the process of installing an Auto Meter Transmisson Temperature gauge with the Auto Meter Gauge Pod Mount. The Gauge Pod comes in basic black and I would like to paint it to match the interior blue color...
Does anyone know where to obtain the matching paint (light blue) that is found on the A-Pillar of the truck..
The truck is Metallic Silver Exterior with Denim Blus cloth interior and two different shades of blue on the dash and A-Pillars and doors...
Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks,
Les

What you might want to try is to contact a high end car stereo place nearby. A friend pointed me to one for a similar reason. Seems they get allot of custom speaker enclosures and such that are all black and they have special dyes to match your vehicles interior.
The guy at the store said it was easy to do and he would sell me the dye but I was in a hurry and feeling sorta lazy so I paid him to do it for me. Now I can honestly say that I forget that I had it dyed as it looks like OEM material now.
Best wishes,
Tripp

Also try some automotive paint stores in your area. I just got a price about two weeks ago for some interior paint for my 88 F-150, and it was only $20 a quart, ready to spray. Plus they had a small sprayer, that was refillable for like another $10. So I think I'm going to do that, since I still have a couple of interior components I want to install.
