Hey Dennis! Looks like I should be going Saturday. Gonna try and get there earlier than the last time, and start at the North end and work back, as it seems there are more goodies there!

Well, I came, I saw, and I left disappointed... The lack of Ford content was no surprise, but it was almost not there at all! My friend and I (a Dodge guy who has a '66 Mustang project), left disgusted at all the chebbie stuff. I'm sure most of y'all that went saw the nice '78 Ford truck front clip near the entry gates??? Nice shape!
I will be going to the May 1 swap in Red Deer, because it is so much bigger. It was still nice to talk to the few Ford guys that were there! One fellow gave me a good tip: He got a stock carb from a chebbie 305 at the junk yard, and threw it on his 460 3/4 ton. He was getting 12-16 mpg at the time, then after the Quadrajet went on, he got around 24 mpg average, and has gone as high as 27 mpg on one trip! Apparently the power was better than the factory Ford carb too...

That would be great Dennis... Did you make it to the meet?
My buddy was so unimpressed (more so than I) that I could take my time looking at stuff in detail. It will most likely be the same way next time as well! Oh well, I will just have him leave without me next time if I find a treasure trove... Unless, of course, I arrive with NO MONEY again! LOL

I'm sure looking forward to the May swap meet too. Pretty slim pickins at this one. All I ended up with was some more old truck ads and a 1/18 Bullitt diecast (disassembled). About a third of the price of the assembled diecasts.
