f350 brake booster - bronco upgrade
I am getting ready to re-do my brakes on my 78 bronco since the weather is warming up. I had read the article in the tech section a while ago and had planned to do this upgrade for quite some time now. https://www.ford-trucks.com/articles...akeupgrade.php
In the article it say "A '78 Bronco will use the booster from a '78 F350 4WD or 2WD". I went to advance and they could order the booster, but it showed different boosters for 4wd and 2wd. So does anyone know which I should get or what the difference is? I think the 4wd one was called a hydro-vac unit or something like that. I think it listed it as a mexican part also. Was hoping someone could shed some lite on the situation, as I hope to have the bronco back road worthy this spring, and the brakes really need upgrading regardless.

Do you have disc brakes or drums and does your serial number start before DJ 0001 or after?
I had the same problem with my 79 4X4, and went to NAPA, I had to go through the same issue!
I am looking at the 5 different types of pictures right now which were made for 73-79...if you give me some more info...I can give you the original part #

Well, my bronco has disk front drum rear but I dont think that will make any difference seing how the parts are from an f-350. I am upgrading the booster/master cylinder to f-350 parts and the only info on what part to get is from that article in the link above.
Here is another quote "The '78-'79 Ford F350 tandem booster (dual 9 1/4" diapragm) is a bolt in retrofit with twice the power output. "
Again the article doesnt discern between 2wd and 4wd boosters and they are different part numbers so I just wondered what the difference between them is (if anything?). Maybe they would both work?
