Just wait until you see the look on their faces when you pull them at a light towing. They hate to get passed by an 8000# truck pulling a trailer with a tractor on it.

At work I used to drive a lumber truck with a 2003 VT365@195 hp and it was pretty fast for a truck that weighs 11000. The variable geometry turbo is pretty sweet.

THANKS FOR GREAT BRAKES TOO!
Today I was driving on the Interstate going about 95 and passing in the right lane a Jeep wagon that wouldn't get over. We topped a hill, my radar detector went off and I saw a cop about 200 ft away on the right shoulder. I stood on the brakes hard enough to squeel the tires. The Jeep went by me like I was standing still. It was obvious the cop was confused, so I helped him by getting over to the left lane so he could pass me on the shoulder and pull the Jeep over.
I know I should have stopped and told the cop it was really me going 95 but I guess the SOB in me was just too strong today.

So MaRXSmart you mean to tell me that with a chip your truck is faster then a Lightning??? Even with a 140hp chip I don't think a 6.0 is faster then a stock Lightning. And Motownfire so a Z71 Chevy got passed while going up a hill by a 6.0 pulling gooseneck with a backhoe on it??? Are you guys listening to yourselfs? A backhoe weights over 15,000lbs and a gooseneck around 8,000lbs, thats 23,000 behind the truck, add another 8,000lbs for the truck 31,000lbs that just passed a Z71 with a 285hp engine going up a hill, a stock Z71 will nearly hang with a 6.0 and you are telling me this 6.0 had 23,000lbs behind it going up a hill and was passing this guy, was the Z71 on the brakes?! Get ahold of yourselfs guys, come on now......

Motown fire didn't say it, I did. I heard it from the Z71 driver. and it wasn't a gooseneck. His Z71 will hang with my 6.0 for about the first 100 ft, then adios. My 6.0 is bone stock.

That's exactly what mine did ....
need to go back to them to tweak a small thing... but other than that it's fine... and for about $100 (before chrome tip I added) not a bad price...

150ford is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE. 150ford is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
We here about the problems with the 6.0 don't forget about the performance. A farm magazine I read had a test between all three of the diesel trucks out there. The ford won. Like it wins most contests. Everybody was in awe of that 6.0 performance. Its time to play tug of war with the diesel trucks out there or maybe a little quarter mile action. My hunch the ford would win like it always has.

I have driven several 6.0s and they are really impressive!!! But they are not faster then a Lighting, and pulling a load would never be faster then a Z71, just the facts of life. And if you played tug of war with a cummins, you would probally loss, the cummins makes all it's power at 1600rpm, just barley off idle, maybe if you both had autos you could use your low first gear to compensate for his huge low end torque, but if you were both manuals I would think he would win.
