What is in it now, and where are you?

The 390, 400, and 460 are all very different blocks. Which one do you want?

It has now a FE 354 cid, but it's not strong enough, may be 'cause the guy from who I bought the truck did not use to drive it constantly, it keeps standard until now

That's odd. You're sure you didn't misread it? To my knowledge, Ford hasn't made a 354 anything, ever.

Take a look at the engine, under the distributor and too the right, on the block. There should be a 352 or mirror image 105 printed there if it's an FE.

How did you come up with 354??? Ford does not put the motor size, or anything to do with the motor size in the door jam. The only way to identify the motor is the tag on the intake bolt or distributor lock down bolt. If the tag is missing, the only sure way to know what it is, is to tear the motor down.

I know there was a 534, but we know that wouldn't fit in a F350.

Or at least I dont think it was offered in an F350? That would have been kick butt if it was.

The 354 is probably part of the VIN indicating the style of the truck. Much like mine is a 254.

The VIN number, is longer, and one of the letters in the middle will indicate what motor originally came with that truck. I forget the codes for engines. you should be able to find that in a search here.

If it is an FE (look for 5 valve cover bolts), you probably have a 360 or 390.

I believe there were several engine options in 76. In an F350 you might see anything from a 300 I6 to a 460.

Knowing what motor is in there now will help in determining what to replace it with.
The motors that you listed take different AT trannies, or bellhousings if you have a stick.
You are supposed to be able to swap bell's between the 400m and 460, but I have heard of minor flywheel clearance issues with the bellhousings.
So, if you have a FE and an AT, you won't be able to put in a 460 without changing the tranny too.

I'd say use the same engine family you have in there. It makes it easier. All your listed engines are good, I'm kind of partial to 390's, but the 400 and 460 can be built to make good power too. I'd say go with what's in there. If it's a FE we can answer your questions here in the FE forum.

Since you are obviously in a foreign country, nobody here can tell you where to buy an engine. It would also help a great deal if you could identify the present engine. In a '76, it could be an FE, but it could also be a 351M, a 400, or a 460.
