I wanted to do the superchips tuner on my 04 f350 , called the superchips tech dept. and they said they do not have a app. that will work on my f350 , but it works on the f250 ! (with the 5.4l motor.)
Do any of you guys have a tuner that worked other than the diablo on a 04 f350 with the 5.4 motor for some reason the mapping is different than the 04 f250 ? , Craig.

SCT is neither good nor bad. SCT is a platform for custom tuning companies to produce tunes for. How good or bad the tunes are depends on the tuner writing the tunes.

Look, I'm gonna have to ask you to go ahead, just come back another time. I got a meeting with the Bob's in a couple minutes.
I really like the SCT however I did not install the performance tune just adjusted parameters for the tranny, tire size, and etc. I want to run on 87 so I can't get much extra hp out of it. Both the 5.4l and 6.8l 2V respond well to the headers and replacing the restrictive factory Y-pipe is a must. The stock muffler also plugs the truck up as well. The stock intake really flows fine for either engine I just prefer the K&N because maint. is easier.
I tuned my dads 03' SD 6.8l with the Diablosport tuner and it works very well too.
You can see pics in my gallery the mods I have done to my truck to help wake it up in the performance dept.
- Thorley Headers and Y-pipe
- SCT SF 9415B
- K&N FIPK 2
- FM Force 2 Cat-Back w/ FM70 BB2 Muffler
- Dynatech 3" Cat
- Zoodad Mod
I'm getting it dyno tuned this spring. Custom dyno tuning is the way to go.
Thanks dkf , I would like to get the Thorley Headers and Y-pipe if they make a set for my truck , and I'll research the sct , thank you , Craig.
I don't think Thorley offers a set of headers for the 5.4l SD however I could be wrong. You might want to give them a call and see what they offer. The Thorley headers are long tube tri-y headers which help in the low end torque department however still make great power throughout the rpm range. Thorley uses 14ga. tubing vs 16 ga. tubing that others use, the thicker tubing help cut down on header noise. I am happy with mine I can tell a huge difference especially on the hills.
