2001 V10 Enigine noise

I have a 2001 V10 Lariat 4x4 and I noitced today a noise coming from my engine. I have 2300 miles on it. When I am driving and it shifts into OD, it shound like a rattling noise when I am cruising in OD with about 1500 or a little higher rpms. It doesn't do it when I am accelerating in any other gear or cuising in any other gear. I have read previous posts about pinging, but I don't know if this is it? Any help would be appreciated. ALSO... I just took the truck in yesterday for its first oil change??? Didn't do the noise before that. Thanks

My V-10 had the same noise, and I took it to the dealer and told him about the TSB on the exhaust Y. They changed it and the truck sounds completely different now. Even the wife noticed the difference. Hopefully the oil change was just a co-incidence. Sure don't need a problem like that! That's why I always change my own oil. I don't trust anyone to do it but me.

Mike,

What is the TSB? When they changed the Y pipe, did they use the same looking one or a different one? How does it sound now? Did they give you a hard time about it? I called the dealership here in Las Vegas and they told me it was the summer gas and would go away when the whether started cooling down. I asked him if I should bring it in to have them look at it and he said "no, everything is fine with your truck, it's common and won't cause any problems." Help me out. Thanks

Here is the technical service bulletin he's referring to. I have an '01 F250 V10 myself, but I think it was built in Jan '01 (I'll check later). How can I tell if I have the "new" Y pipe or not?
