oil galley plug leaking.. need advice
I'm fighting the oil leak issue which seems to be a common thread in this forum! Oil galley plug on driver side is leaking. Just wondering what size the driver is for it, can't get any of my 1/2" drives into it.... could be the angle of the engine to firewall... any suggestions?
Should this plug be taken out and sealed, or just tightened up?
Thanks in advance!

A buddy of mine had the same problem. What he ended up doing was drilling a hole through the firewall and accessing the plug from inside the cab with a couple of 1/2" extensions. Turns out it was a bad o-ring on the plug. Not exactly the way I would want to do it but late saturday night in utah means 2 days until anywhere opened to get the right tool for the job if there is a right tool for it. But you gotta do what you gotta do to get the job done. If memory serves me correct there is and o-ring and a paper type gasket on the plug and if one is hosed there isn't much of a possibility of just tightening it fixing the problem. BTW it was a real pain in the a$$ getting the truck started after removing the plug, and he was told that he had to run the truck for something like 2000 rpm for 20 minutes or so to get all the air out of the rails to get it going like a champ again.
Hope it helps but it is 6am and I'm not thinking too well yet.
