2004 f150 5.4 mileage results

i just got a new 2004 f 150 supercab, long box with payload pkg. it only came with a 4.10 rear axle. anybody out there with a similar truck that can share mileage results? altho i only have 500 miles on it i am only getting 12.5 mpg so far. window sticker said 18 mpg on hwy, which most of my miles have been. i find it hard to believe that the mpg will improve that much by driving it a few more breakin miles. your comments are appreciated.

Clancey, welcome to FTE and thank you for taking the time to register and post. I was going to move your post to the 2004 F-150 forum, but I see that you have already posted in there so I wont. I will leave it in here unless something comes up and I have to remove it. Thank you.

Wow! I was thinking of getting almost that exact same truck in the next year or so as my '92 is a gas hog. I've got a new engine coming, but maybe I'll just keep the old girl! Hopefully somebody else will chime in here.

The '04 will settle down after some miles. I have the 3.73's and I get around 15 with a light foot.

Wanna buy a set of 10" subs in a '04 F150 box?!

Dan
