where to buy gear shift *****?

hi, got a 91 F250 7.3L IDI with a 5-speed. my shifter **** is free spinning and i would like to replace it. i know (from a forum search) that it's just a friction ****. i'm looking for an aftermarket **** with or without the H pattern on it. (I know where the gears are, my wife doesn't) any link to a store or website would be great. thanks.

any auto parts store and places like walmart have them. they're only a few bucks. my shifter know is loose too. i'm thinking of wrapping something like electrical or thread sealer tape aroung the top of the arm and pushing the know over that to keep it there. you can even use some sort of adhesive. find a glue that bonds to everything and dries fast. just squirt a little on there and you're god to go.

holy smokes! if JB WELD didn't work, then i don't know what will. if jb weld can't keep the old one on, what's to keep the new one on? i came across a **** at jc whitney but it was lighted and required 12 volts. sure it would look cool but i don't want a wire running down my shifter. maybe this is a sign to just keep it stock.

just fixed mine. the **** kept pulling off. i took it off and wrapped the top of the pole in electrical tape. i had to use a block and hammer the **** on there. its really tight and shows no sign of coming off. it took about 2 minutes to do and cost nothing.

how many times did you wrap the tape around? i think if you got it too thick that you would just push the tape down while replacing the ****.

it was the standard electrical tape. i taped as far down as i could while still being covered by the ****, and probably went around 3 or 4 times. if it pushes down then just take it off and start over, only w/one less layer. pull it tight so that it stays put. electrical tape is like rubber so is just squishes in there. something like masking tape wouldn't work as well. its been a few days since i did it and its still tight. i even tried to twist it and pull it a little and it didn't move.
