Hey Guys, does anybody have any experience with using a Holley projection throttle body TBI on a flathead? Holley told me they make a small two barrel unit that would work for this small of an engine, and it would mount to a 4-barrel intake manifold. I put a projection TBI on my 454 and loved it, and was hoping it would work just as well on my flathead.
i tried to put a Holly projection system on a 6 cyl flathead.i used the system designed for a 264 cu jeep motor.i have a big six [254 ci ]. the system ran rich all the time. i got no help from holly at all. i took it off and put a carb back on. i put it in a box marked mistake. tim
Thanks for the feedback Tim. I do know that the pro-jection I used on a newer engine was a pain to setup, and I have heard of other people really cussing the system. I had pretty good support from Holley, but that was back in '93. Maybe the jeep TBI wouldn't be a good idea for my 239flattie.
