Torque Specifications

I have searched with very limited success - both here and in the Misc. Forum (Wheels, tires, etc.). I would like to know what the torque specs are for the wheels on the following truck:

'04 150
FX4
SCrew
18" Wheel Package

I called the dealership and they gave me specs for 12 and 14MM bolts... but this must be length and not nut size?

This is the first time I have ever owned a truck let alone an American vehicle - I have always purchased German. With that aside I was quite surprised to hear service for Ford talking in MM... I was expecting standard measurements - Go figure.

Yesterday I had the stock tires flipped so the blackwalls are now facing out and I want to make sure my wheels were torqued to the correct specs. I appreciate anyone's help on the matter and I will continue to search for my answer.

Thanks

The only torques specs I found in the manual for tightening the lugs are 150 ftlbs. Hope this is what you were looking for. The specs were on pg 205.

A general rule for Aluminum wheels is in the 75/80 ft-lb range and steel wheel around 150 ft lbs. However the most important thing is to tighten the lugs in a criss cross pattern and have them be equal. The size being refered to is the diameter of the stud not the length. The 12 mm is only available on the HD with the 7 bolt pattern, more than likely your truck has the 14 mm.

Thanks. I will look at pg. 205. Definately aware of the criss-cross pattern that needs to be applied when tightening... but it is always a good reminder.

Appreciate the help.
