Questions about a Ranger Sport
I have a 1999 Ranger Sport XLT x-cab 4.0L 2wd auto that I purchased used. There was no manual with the truck and in doing some checking on the vehicle some questions have popped up.
Other than the Sport decals and the mono color scheme on the bumpers/grill/body what features are unique to the Sport?
Would it be possible that the Sport has a towing package? I found two heat exchangers (small radiators) on the truck. On just below the radiator and one in front of the radiator and AC condenser and to the passenger side. The one underneath appears to be the power steering cooler. Could the other be a transmission cooler? Any ideas?
Is this a standard feature for a Sport package?
Any other features unique to the Sport package?
Your input would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2000 XLT sport that I bought new, I think I have the 2000 brochure and maybe a 1999 one too, I'll look around, feel free to bug just in case I forget.
My XLT Sport option has upgraded mirrors, tach, foglights, painted grill and bumpers, upgraded rear bumper and... thats all I can think of right now.

Wonder what it is that I just bought? What I know is that it is a 2000 Ranger, (NO XL or XLT) Red (Vermillion) paint, black grille and bumpers, 2wd but with 245/75R16 yes that's 16" (look like Explorer) aluminum wheels. It has the fog lights and tachometer. No carpet, rubber floor.
Reg cab shortbox 3.0 FlexFuel Auto and according to the VC codes it has a 4.10 non-limited slip rear end, but the one for the 4x4 (97). It also looks like the springs are for a 4x4. It actually sits higher than a lot of 4x4 Rangers. In a way it looks like they (the factory) started out to make a 4x4 and changed their mind half way through.
On the tailgate is an interesting decal on the left side that says "Trail Head" with some graphics around it, about the size of a slow pitch softball.
Whatever it is it's Great!!! Has alot of miles on it already but looks new on the outside.
With some TLC I'm hoping it'll last awhile. Would like to swithch out the seats (60-40 cloth) they're looking a little dingy especially the center armrest/console.
Anybody know where the best place to look for replacement seats is? Would appreciate some advice on that.
Also the rubber floor is bunching up (not torn yet) under foot on the drivers side, any experience with that I would welcome also. Thanks
