F-250 SUPERDUTY ABS AND SPEEDOMETER TROUBLE

A couple of days ago my ABS light came on while driving. When I slowed down to check it out I noticed tthe speedometer dose not work at speeds below 30mph. I checked the rear abs sensor at the diff and it looked ok. I was going to check the speedometer cable but I cant find it. Any one have any ideas?

There is no speedo cable, there is a tone ring in the rear diff. that the computer uses to determine vehicle speed. I don't know if it's the same one the ABS uses or not.

I'd stick with the sensor on the rear diff. It may look okay but still have gone bad. I've read about it so many times that it is pretty common and those are the symptoms. Some guys have luck cleaning them but most have them replaced.

It turned out to be the speed sensor on the top of the diff. The cost of the sensor was $11 and it took about five minutes to change.

Thanks for the help
