Had lower intake gaskets changed, upstream O2 sensors, and am glad I have my windows tinted so dark that no one could see how embarrassed I was when that Geo beat me to the ramp exit!

1998 model with 110,000 miles. The only problem so far was when the starter failed last fall.

1998 188,000

One vac hose and a radiator leak.

I love my 4.2!

Louis

P.S. - A GEO?!?! Did you get the gas petal and the brake petal confused? Was this when you O2 sensor was bad? You do know the F150 4.2 doesn't run on deisel.

If it were a Geo Storm, those things pack a wollup. I've got a friend who races an old one and pulls 13's w/turbo.

2003 Supercab pig, 11,000. Zero manufacturer defects......NUMEROUS owner screwing around with multiple flip-flop modifaction problems. (part of the hobby I guess)

Gas mileage?..........11 mpg, just finished calculating on a half tank last night. I'm sure it will get worse when I up to 35" tires.

The only mod on my drive train is a Dynomax muffler. Everything else is factory. I am thinking of getting some JBA or Taylor plug wires!

As ive said before,my truck could not fall out of a tree fast!

1997 XL 4.2 V6, R/cab, long bed with 133,000 miles. Lower intake gaskets replaced twice, engine replaced with Jasper engine at 128,500. Rear window with slider replaced, tailgate latch replaced on program. Firestone Wilderness tires replaced on program. Other than that a great truck and dispite these problems I'll buy another F-150 WITH a V8.
