So Truck has been in the shop for a week and a couple of days now!

The Body Damage is easily fixed and painted!

They did see that I was going to need an AC Compressor!

They think and I hope that was what was making the Engine Failsafe Mode go on!

If not I guess its off to Ford!

Need an oil change anyway and have the rear window Fixed(Rattle)

I was really hoping to hear someone definately found the fix for that Engine Failsafe Mode!

It seems to me there have been a ton of posts stating the problem but really none that give any conclusion!!

So lets group together even if you have answered this somewhere else please answer again here

Thanks a million for your help!!!

No solution for me yet. The problem is getting worse.

I guess some have had success with replacing the throttle body. Some have success with a reflash. Others do both. Someone posted yesterday that they were trying an entire new computer. Others put up with it, and for some it oddly goes away. Either way it's a pain in the azz, and Ford hasn't got it under control.

BTW, what is your build date?

My build date was sometime in November!!

Still have under 2k miles on the thing!!

I pray it was the AC condenser that went bad from the accident thats causing it to fail safe mode!!

I'll either know today or tomorrow!!!

When I get the truck back!

I'll keep you guys informed

Thanks jogmark3. My build was December. I'm starting to see a pattern on the earlier builds here. Your low mileage indicates that it is not something that develops over time, but rather an initial defect. Keep us posted.

Ok Everyone I just heard from the body shop!!

They had to take the truck to Ford and they found the fail safe mode had nothin to do with my accident!! Its the 2??? code I dont have the paper work yet!!

So they Reset and updated the Computer!! Which we've all heard doesn't really work to well!!

I am told If it happens again to bring it back to the dealer!!!

Which we all know will definately happen!!

I've heard people at various posts getting there Thottle body replaced and getting a new Computer!!

Hope I dont have to have that!!!

The Ford did tell them that Ford as a whole is having a big Campain to fix this huge problem there having all over the USA!!!

I hope this grand a scale is forcing Ford to really get on this!!!!!!

Hey guys just figured I'd give you the lastest and greatest!!

Had the truck back since Friday and I've been driving everywhere!!

Long drives short drives you name it I've done it these past few days!!

NO Engine fail safe mode!!! YEAHHHHHHHH

The dealer updated my Computer and it seems to be working!

Now I know better than to get my hopes up cause I've heard these updates

lasting from a day to a month!

I will tell you this I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the hood and saw

sticker from the dealer with the date the code and software update #

Which means there not just B-S-ing me to death!!

I am curious anymore update from the rest of you guys out there!!

Keeping my fingers crossed !!!!!

So what's the new software update #??? Don't hold back on us! I just had mine reflashed yesterday and the ticket did not indicate what the update number was. I have to admit that I did not check under the hood. I'll do that today. I'd like to hear what your update version is.

I brought it in for reflash due to throttle delay and one instance of low rpm surging, but after driving it two days now, I can't say that I notice any improvement in throttle response. It was a good idea to take it to the dealer, because he pulled all the codes and made sure there was nothing wrong. He gave me his opinion based on driving other F150s and he said the throttle response didn't seem any different than other trucks on the lot.

However, I do think my gas mileage is slightly improved, but a few tanks of gas will better verify that. I never saw my mpg guesstimator show anything better than 18.6, but taking the freeway home from the dealership it actually hit 19.2. I was pleasantly surprised to see that, since I wasn't expecting it.

I had the delay at first and had planned on taking it in during my next long change from work. Mine has seemed to perform much better with adding mileage to it (now at 3800 miles).

I have read several posts stating that the computer learns your driving habits and adjusts accordingly, so I guess my puter has done been learned me well enuff

Just my .02 as usual
