LAST EDITED ON 27-Aug-01 AT 08:34 AM (EST)[p]I ordered my 2002 F250 SuperDuty SuperCab 4X4 Lariat, V10, 3.73LSD, Auto on 7/31/01 and received it on 8/24/01. The dealership also received 4 other SuperDuty trucks at the same time. One word describes the truck, AWESOME. It is huge and performs better so far than any other truck I have ever owned. I have always owned GM trucks and never have driven a Ford until now. I drove the truck over the weekend and put 275 miles on it. So far the gas mileage is 14.1 with mixed driving. I also had the front hubs locked for the first 235 miles. My brother has a 2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD and could not believe the gas mileage I got on the first tank of gas. He has never gotten better than 12MPG. He said that if I continue to get that kind of gas mileage he is going to switch to Ford. Good luck to everyone else waiting for their 2002 to arrive.

Irvin, Congrats on the arival of your new truck, I'm really glad your happy with it and especially happy with the gas milage.
I ordered a 2002 SD SuperCab Long bed 4x4 XLT with the V-10.
I'm overseas though so I won't recieve it until around 26 October they say. The good thing about waiting for shipment over here is that when buying through the military, Ford offers a special for us, besides price, they over a 7 year 75,000 mile extended warranty.
Can't beat that, right? !
Anyway, a few questions for you. What Octane of Gas are you running right now? Do you have shift on the fly 4x4? Do you have the chrome tubular cab steps?
Let me know how the last 2 work out and look.
I'm really excited now, I was thinking about worst gas milage than that.
Thanks in Advance!

I am running Regular Unleaded (87 Octane). I have the cab stebs that are sort-of grey. They look nice on the truck with the Arizona Beige which is a new color for the SuperDuty in 2002. I opted for the standard floor shifter for the 4X4. I prefer the manual locking hubs for strength and reliability. I have also read several posts about problems with the automatic shift-on-the-fly 4X4. I am very pleased with the gas mileage. I will believe that it isn't just a fluke if I continue to get that kind of mileage after a few fill-ups. Good luck on your truck.

Morning Blackbeauty, I ordered a 250,sc,lariet,v-10,two-tone paint, chrome steps, cab lights, hitch, 373(not going to use higher tires) and auto trans.. They told me yesterday 9/12, three weeks ago it was 8/28 and I ordered it 5/24. They gave me a trade in value on my 97-150 in may and I went down yesterday and told them if they didn't horner that price I would walk. They said no problem.....My own fault ordering so close to the change over.

You might want to check with the dealer to see what code they used when they ordered the truck. My dealer showed me that they put the order in with a priority code of 11. They said this code showed that the truck was a "priority customer sold" order. They said that the truck would be picked up by Ford ahead of any normal "stock" orders. My truck came in after only 3 1/2 weeks. I know that on several GMC trucks I have ordered in the past that the dealer just put them in as normal orders and they took 12-14 weeks to arrive. Just a thought...
