replace ignition key

Help in the 66 i have a new key cylinder. With out the old key any one know how to get the old cylinder out???

You are going to have to remove the complete ign cyl assy out of the truck. On the rear edge of it there's a hole that has a pin from the key tumbler in it. Take a small punch and drive that pin down. The cyl will pull out. Be careful not to damage the ignition. Turn the new cyl so the pin is down and insert it in the ign. Turn the key towards the start position. This will pop the pin up and keep it in.
