6.0 PSD Chip requirements

I am thinking about buying a chip/tuner, but I am trying to get some definite answers for my questions. I have done some searching on this sight and have had some questions answered but I thought that I would post all my requirements/requests in a chip and see if there is any recommendations.

1- Three settings - 1- When towing approx 8000 lbs up and down mountain grades. 2- Non Towing - Fuel Economy 3- Non towing Power to compensate for larger tires.

2- Will be safe for transmission and other mechanicals while operating truck within reasonable driving conditions.

3- Will not need expensive upgrades for exhaust and guages.

4- Be able to program for 2 different tire sizes and speedo recalculation.

5- Cannot void any part of vehicle warranty.

6- Able to return vehicle computer to stock setting as needed.

Thanks for your help.

BB,
You're asking an awful lot from a chip! I understand all of your concerns, but if you're going to upgrade with a chip you've got to give some:

1. Doable - Programmers like the predator can do this
2. Questionable - still remains to be seen
3. Questionable at best. If you're towing, and are going to be using the box's power at all, you NEED gauges at least to watch what's going on without a doubt.
4. Not sure, I THINK predator offers this
5. Questionable at best - there's SO MUCH debate out there right now but the general consensus, if you can't afford to replace your engine/tranny on your own, DON'T mod it
6. Doable with programmers like the predator

The biggest factor for me would be the warranty concerns, if I were you. If you're that worried about it (and I, like you probably, can't afford to put in a new motor on my own) don't mod it.

A couple of notes on the above comments.

4. No tuner offers tire size calibration for any of the Ford diesels, 6.0 included.
5. Return it to stock tune and clear codes, if the tuner is not the cause of the problem (shouldn't be).
6. Yes.
