75W-140 synthetic differential lube??
I have a 2001 F250 5.4 liter 4x4, NOT limited slip differentials.
The book says I need 75W-140 SYNTHETIC differential lube in the rear differential..
I can't find differential lube with those specs.
Where are you folks finding that product? What store?
Thank you...... Lee Carkenord

I live in NY on Long Island. I saw the stuff at a place called PEPBOYS. If its a 2001 you souldn't have to worry about it. Are you doing heavy towing or loosing it then maybe. How many miles on your rig you like it? I have a 1988 F250 Extended & 8Ft bed. Love it

For the amount of fluid you would need Ford sells in 1-qt containers so maybe just buy it there. The book for your truck will show you the amount you need also with the syn. lube it shows change interval at over 100,000 miles or more I believe. My truck pulls most the time so I change things earlier and had the rear diff fluid changed already to be safe as the truck is in water on a regular basis and syn. lube water is its biggest enemy I'm told....plus its below freezing here for the next 4-5 months so for me its more of a contamination issue and preventive maintenance

fjlee,
Summit Racing carries, Richmond Gear GL-6 75W-140 Synthetic Gear Oil. Call 1-800-230-3030 and order RMG-LUBE, $9.95 quart.
I used this in my previous 1992 Chevy C1500's Lock-Rite positraction unit for 9 years(78,000 miles) and my 1996 HD Road King motorcycle transmission for 4 years(35,000 miles). Goooooood stuff... I now own a 2001 F250 SDSC 4X2 with 5.4 and 3:73 LSD
Respectfully,
David:
