is it possible to put a mid 80's f-series body on a 78-79 f-250 frame?

 

Welcome aboard jajohn. I'm shure you will get more answers to your post but as far as i know, yes you can mount any 78 and up body on a 78-79 frame.It was mid '77 when they widened the frames on the f series. Good luck and keep us posted with your progress. -David

 

so will an older body (example 76) go on a 79 frame? or not?

 

My buddy has a 79 frame with 12" of lift and dana 60s sitting on 39.5 tsl's. He's a welder so he made all the custom mounts to bolt his 1980 body onto it. Things huge, the body swap added 2" of body lift

 

Simple answer yes.
