Eaton Supercharger from a GM 3800
I got a Eaton Supercharger off a 2000 Bonneville in a wrecking yard that is in perfect working condition. All though the bolt pattern is different for my 4.0 L '98 Explorer, I should be able to make some sort of transfer plate to fit. Has anyone tried this before?

I have not put mine on anything else, but I happen to have one of those on my other vehicle. Good blowers. What kind of mileage is on it? one thing to make sure is that you allow room for the bypass valve as well, will save you gas mileage, and save the blower wear and tear. You will have to find a way to activate and disable it though, it's both vacuum and electronically controlled. Also, don't muck with the outlet. Do it wrong, and you will increase your outlet temps and lose HP. Leave it as it is, if you must port, just polish the inlet. and open up the very front to match whatever TB you choose. When you open it up, open the top of the opening, since there is more material to remove. What does the lower manifold of the 4.0L engine look like? Could prove interesting since the blower was made for a 90* v-6, and the 4.0L is a 60* v-6 IIRC.

Eaton supercharger
First off the supercharger in question has its own built in bypass valve. I've played with a few lets say. The size M90 is the newer one, which I believe you have. Its a bit bulky and it places the throttle body way too far back. I was going to use one, The older M60 units are a much easier fit, but !! their are two of those , a really early model with a smaller pulley, but restricktive intake passage(stay away from!) and a later M60 slightly larger pulley, much better intake port. BUT WAIT !!!! The problem with all of the is that the throttle is in the back !!! AND the neck is a little short,So what do we do??? WELL there is another choice!!!!!!!!
Take a look at the Eaton M60 fabed for the Nissan Exterra. It places the intake on the driver side, so now all you have to do is a 90 degree elbow and pipe it to the 4.0s orig TB location. OK , its actually off to the left approx 1" sue me. And the neck lines up really nice with the belt . I'm using this one myself in my fab. I've been trying to find out the BBK kits SC pulley size. The Nissans has to be close, judging visually.
Feel free to email me for or with any relitive info, I will do the same.
Thanks

He has the M90. Decent inlet, but room for improvement. Don't do too much though. If you get a rattling when it's spinning, it's probably a coupler that commonly wears out. Easy, cheap fix. Change the S/C oil, only use S/C oil from the dealer, the gears spin too fast for most traditional oils. If you're going to go through the trouble of fabbing an adapter plate, have an intercooler fabbed. That way you can run smaller pulleys. If you plan on continuing to mod afterwards, you may want to consider a modular pulley system, so you can swap out a smaller pulley if you take it to the track with race gas. Got any specific questions?

I am also interested in this nice lil mod
I have a 86 Bronco w/ a 5.0, bored over a little bit. I could prolly get a blower off of a Nissan or a Pontiac thru a junkyard.
I have a 98 GTP w/ the Eaton blower and I love the sound of it and the boost is just awesome
Keep us posted w/ the progress.

Here might be another option for you: Thomas Knight at www.boosthead.com/product.php (The link won't come out right - it is www. boost head . com - remove the spaces)
He has designed the mounting kit for the 4.0's - but he is using a M62. There are a few people I know talking to him about his kits. He sells them with the Eaton or without.
The only other company I know of making kits for Explorers is Explorer Express. That is where I got mine from. I am running a M90, but am thinking about going up to a M112 and refabbing a mounting plate.

Do you by any change know of some who has put m112 on a ´86 bronco 5.0? I have been thinking of this for a long time. I was also considering water injection between stock manifold and charger. Any help in this direction would be good to have.
thanks,
Bragi
