1941 1/2 ton

Hi guys,
Just brought home a '41 1/2 ton with a grain/feed wood bed. The rims are the split type and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with them. I need to get tires (17") good enough to roll this thing around. Does anyone know what years will fit the bolt pattern? My '42 1 ton rims bolt pattern are too large!

Well congradulations!

So what is the bolt pattern for the 1/2 tons? Are they 5 on 4-1/2?

1/2 tons have a 5 on 5 1/2 inch bolt pattern, same as some later model Ford trucks.

Are the split rims safe?

Think the biggest dangers of split rims is mounting the tires...if not done properly they can pop off possibly causing serious injury or death. A lot of places will not even attempt to mount tires on split rims.
