Fuel Economy (Or lack of)

Best bet is to use a new air intake from Volant. Add a new exhaust system and headers and you will get more power and better mileage.
edit- Also try an eletric fan. It removes the belt which adds back HP and it keeps the engine running cooler which means more air is going to be in the fuel mixture

The first numbers out of the auto industry for the new 5.4 engine indicated improved efficiency and better fuel economy. So far, I have yet to hear of any such thing. Guess it has a lot to do with the extra 500 pounds that Ford managed to throw into the new truck.
Frankly, I have a 1999 F-150 with a nice 5.4 that is adequate. Give me the new Heritage Edition with the new 5.4 engine less all the weight and I would be most happy.
I don't care that much about crash tests against equal weight vehicles. I am more worried about what looks like $2 plus per gallon gas this summer.
Give me the old, lighter truck with a more fuel efficient engine - please, Ford.
