59 F250 Front Brake Drums

Hey folks,

I need front brake drums for my 1959 F250 2-wheel drive. When I checked the local parts houses, they could not find exactly what I have. My measurements show 12" x 2" drums. The parts books they had only showed that size in a 4x4 drum. Otherwise it was 12 1/8" x 2 1/2". I'm not sure what the previous owner had done, other than neglect it for too long.

Does anyone know the exact specs for that year and model front drums? Other wise the closest thing they tried to sell me was for a 1956 F250. Would that work for my 59?

Thanks for the help.

59 F250,

Front brake drums for the 1959 F-250 2WD are part number B6D 1125-A.

Dimensions are:

8 bolt, 6.50" Circle Dia., 12.125" Inside Dia., 2.51" Brake surface width.

Judging by the part number, I'm thinking the 1956 F-250 front drums are the same.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Kenny,

My shoes only measure 2" wide. I'm not sure where the error lies, or if there is one at all. The shoes I have on the truck may be incorrect. Thanks for the part number.

Well, let's give this a try. I'm new to the group, and have been helping my 19 Y.O. Son with his new,old Ford. He is the second owner of a 59 F100 4X4 which we are begining to restore.
More about this in my next post but, for obsolete brake stuff for any old car/trucks try Jeff at Moose Motors at (707)792-9985. We needed drums for our truck and he had a set of new ones for cheap.
I hope it's OK to give his phone on this forum, if they ax it let me know and we can get together on Email.
See Ya
