To the contrary, it could mean that others don't have this problem or that that truck is new enough that most have no experiance with it.

To say that you will trade it for a chevy after one minor problem (which the dealer is trying to fix) sounds suspect to me.

Minor problem?

i sit in my truck all day and the fumes make me ill as i drive through traffic . what happens when i take the truck for a trip stop at a truck stop to rest and if im running the heat i have no choice but to draw fumes into my vehical and maybe kill me and my family while we rest

I cant even goto the bank and run the heat while im in line at the teller my truck fills with fumes from the car in front of me i have to turn off my heat or ac if i dont want it on full blast cold

there is 500 places that i have to turn off my ac now that i could run it before with my 2001 f150 if i wasnt in my truck at least 5 hrs a day it still wouldnt be minor

If they dont fix it, sorry but It WILL be the last Ford i own no other story other than the ac the truck runs great looks great in the driveway but lost desire to drive a vehical i get sick in

I could move this one to the SuperDuty forum so that you can get more help if you wish. Your truck is very new and that forum may be more helpful.

Straight from the service manual...

System Airflow Description — Manual Climate Control

Max A/C

When MAX A/C is selected:

The air inlet door vacuum control motor is at full vacuum, closing off outside air and admitting only recirculated air.
The panel/defrost door vacuum control motor is at full vacuum and the panel/floor door vacuum control motor is at no vacuum position, directing airflow to the instrument panel A/C registers.
The heater control valve (if equipped) is at full vacuum, preventing the flow of hot coolant to the heater core. Blended air temperature is not available.
The A/C compressor will operate if the outside temperature is above approximately 6°C (43°F).
The blower motor is on.
The auxiliary blower motor (if equipped) is enabled. Blended air temperature is not available

Have you gone out to the truck and looked to see if it has a water control valve? You could simply unplug the vacuum line and plug the open end of it. That would allow water to flow and heat operation I believe for your special circumstance. Its hardly a defect since manufacturers have used them for eoons in Max cooling conditions on vehicles that need the extra cooling performance.

That would fix my problem yes, but ford told me if i do that they will void my warrenty , i have owned many ford products and i have never had this pos a/c system

they tell me to run my a/c on normal when i do that my cab fills with fumes and makes me ill .. when i run the heat the truck fills with fumes and makes me ill also

so it comes down to full cold a/c or smell fumes, im a 50k truck i think this is a joke to have no climate control while recurculating inside air

Thanks for the input

sorry it may seem petty but i work out of this truck and sit in it all day to have no climate control in my office is unthinkable

on max a/c on low setting the truck freezes you out of it i dont see the need for extra a/c power but i may install a ball vaulve to fix it and screw my warrenty

I dont know why they would tell you that unless it would damage the system doing so. Someone is yanking your chain maybe.... could it be because you are yanking thiers with threats to trade it off for a chevy? Plug the damned vacuum line and when you take it in for warranty repairs restore it back to normal. Dont get yourself all twisted in a knot over a simple remedy.

No manufacturers system works in recirculation mode (MAX AC) in a heated mode without a separate recirc switch.

This is my 2nd truck with them in 3 yrs if they want to get number 3 they should work with me

my 2001 f150 super crew 4x4 i could heat the truck on MAX a/c or set it to any temp i wanted with out any extra button, this truck has same settings and controls as my 2001 F150
