Niteman,
From having had bad experiences with starters in the past , my suggestion would to buy a unit from a Ford Dealership. I would also be hot to trot on inspecting all the wiring going to the starter , battery and solenoids too. I tend to agree with the previous poster on the current starter however , either something was missed ?...or second rate materials came in the kit.
Sure , you are going to pay a few bucks extra Vs. an Autozone or a Pep Boys , but a "Remanufactured Unit" from Ford is about as good as it gets. The best scenario is to make friends with your local Ford Dealers parts people....and see if they will hook you up with a semi-bogus account that will allow you to purchase all your Motorcraft needs at "Jobbers Rates"
Should the above work out for you? You will be enjoying some need savings and insuring Factory Spec parts going back on your Nite.
BTW...I sold Fords from late 92 -94.....and the 1992 Nite was always one of my favorite vehicles during that time. I sold a couple of the F-150's in the Nite configuration...but never a Bronco , we never had one to sell
FYI....I would not pass on a chance to own a nice example of a 1992 Nite....so keep me in mind.
