Fuel tank sending unit

Hello everyone,
First time with a question. I have a 1987 F-250 6.9L and looking for a part number for rear tank sending unit. Called the local Ford dealer and they want 110.00. Are the front and rear sending units the same? I think if I could find the part number I could get it cheaper at one of the Ford part wholesalers
on the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
XLRS

We have two radiator shops here that do gas tanks as well. They can order new tanks and sending units at less than 1/2 of the Ford price.

You should maybe call a couple of shops where you are to check if they also do gas tanks.

Instead of the stock 17 gallon tanks in my 86 I now have a 22 front tank and a 44 gallon rear tank. With sending units and mounting hardware, it was less than Ford wanted for the front 17 gallon tank alone.
