Most around here including myself would recommend the Flowmaster 40 series. It has a nice deep tone and is fairly loud and it is less restrictive which should help your power and torque.

Here is a link to a company that sells new cats for the ford v6, for those of you who do not know there are FOUR cats on that motor. There is a company that produces a cat replacement that would take one out the equasion on both sides of the motor. The address is www.cheapexhaust.com/ford-f-150.html. This mod would really reduce the amount of resistance that is put on that motor. If anyone has done this let me know. The price for both sides is $500.

Personally, the loudest exhaust muffler I've heard that gives the toughest sound are the Warlocks. I'm not sure what brand they are but I know a couple of people in Houston that have them. They are quite a bit louder than my 40 series flowmaster.

Top 3:
Gibson
Flowmaster
Warlocks

You can eliminate the muffler completely and install a Y-pipe for duals out the back. The cats muffle the noise quite a bit. it is not as loud as you'd expect. You can always go back and add a muffler if you want to.

really Brian???? How loud would it be? Because I have the Delta 40 series Flowmasters and they are NOT loud enough. And I already have the duals out the back. It would be easy to remove the muffler and toss in a Y pipe extension. Probably cost me 45 bucks or less.

Tom,
That is what I first did about 2 years ago. It actually sounded OK. I just got tired of it after a while and went baqck and added a single in /dual out muffler.
It didn't sound like a V8, but it sure sounded "meaner and louder". I guess that's how I would describe it. I like it at times but settle for what I now have.
try it and see!

I can probably do it myself with a Sawzall and some flexible exhaust pipe. I might check into it.

I've got flowmaster 40's but even that didnt satisfy me so i had straight pipes welded to the inside of my cats so i virtually have none, the disadvantage is not passing emissions, the only reason i could do it is because my brother works at ford.

No emmission check stations in Florida. They had them a few years ago but it was costing the state too much money to run, even though they charged for it. So, they dropped the program.

That's because Bush already killed texas with pollution from all the oil wells. He's trying to kill Florida with Oil wells up and down our beautiful coastline, killing all the marine life and natural coral reefs with oil spills.
