I reckon so! For me I would have to drink to excess, then would probably have to be force-fed the rats!

From what I have heard, my ancestors, while stealing to America on a ship, used to eat the rats that ran amok along the ships hull. But...at night...the rats would nibble on them!

 

Well I guess "meat is meat". My biggest concern with rats would be the fact that they seem to be scavengers. In an urban environment, they could be ingesting all kinds of questionable foods, not to mention carrying disease.

 

I can remember going into downtown Da Nang (around 1970) and seeing kids selling rats that they had cooked on the side of the street over a little trash fire. I don't know if they cleaned them or not (I doubt it), since they were just jabbed on a stick like a hot dog, and roasted with the hair still on.

A person would have to really be hungry, it seems. But hey, I sometimes eat hot dogs, even after telling my kids that they contain cow lips, rectums and ********.

 

They probably are not too bad, but it does seem like they would contain many diseases since they are a scavenger type of animal. I sure would not eat any rats.

 

What's a rat between friends? The Internet news has reported that Northern Korea and Southern China are eating human babies and selling human flesh in the marketplace.

If that doesn't give you shaken adult syndrome, rats won't.

I did a google search and everything that pertains directly to cannibalism in North Korea can be directly attributed to some hard-left wing British journalist who supposedly saw a drawing (not footage or even a photo) by a refugee captioned "man selling human flesh at farmer's market". She also claims that North Korea is directing all its farmers to grow opium, which is nonsense because you can't grow opium, only poppies which are then processed into opium and further processed into heroin.

 

Rat burgers, maybe?? if i caught them in the wild!!

I remember reading (many years ago) that rats are plaguing Vietnam and eating all their crops while the people starve. It seems like the current government isn't living up to expectations but this action just may be the short term answer for them.

My wife has a guy from China working for her. He escaped and moved here with a masters degree and is happy to be washing dishes. According to him the child eating usually happens way out in the rural country. It isn't common, but it does happen. Daughters are frowned apon anyway, so they switch kids with the neighbors. Very sad.

 

Man, thats whacked out. In Cambodia the Kids eat rats. In China, the Rats eat kids. I guess a hundred million asians cant be wrong.........................its all wrong.
But hey, if the rats are cleaner than the chickens, ya gotta eat somethin.

Isn't it amazing what different cultures find acceptable?

Some eat insects, some eat horses, or dogs, or rodents, or pigs, etc.

Personally, I can't imagine ever eating "mountain oysters".
