Question 302 5.0 firing order

Please help.

I can't find anyone who knows about my problem here in Korea...

Is anybody knows the firing order of a Ford 302 5.8 engine distributor type, year around 1980 - 1995(not sure)?

Please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your kind help.

302s use that firing order until they got roller cams then they use the 5.8 firing order.

1-4 front to back on passenger side, 5-8 front to back on driver side. Distributor turns counter clockwise.

Mr. Wiz427,
I don't know the size or year of my small block Ford.
Around the starter I can make out these castings:
D3C or D3G
2J23 is horizontal above the starter mounting flange
There is also a ?DAE behind the starter on the block.
It has a 4 bolt crank pulley and a 2 bbl. carb which looks original.
Knock in freeze plugs, two I think.

Would any of this give us an indication?
Is the firing order different on the 289/302, etc.?
Thanks,
TractormanBill

If it's a carbed motor and it is a 302 it will have the 15426378 firing order, if however it is a 351 it will have the 13726548 firing order. How do you tell the difference? Are the water pump holes level with the cylinder head gasket or an inch below it? Is the distributor base level with the intake gasket or an inch below it?

We diggin up 10 year old threads now ? Unless he's a dufus, I think he should have figgered it out by now I see some mis information here too, such as someone sayin that the all the roller 302's used the 351 F/O. Not true. It can be either, depends on the application.

Hey, come on now, give the guy a break. He is just trying to fix his truck like you and me.
