Battery cable ?

I have 83 F350 6.9 need a positive battery cable can,t find one at any auto parts store with anything more than 4 gauge wire the one that is on it is like 10 gauge. Went to a Ford dealer they can,t even get it one. If I could find a battery clamp that would accept to cables I would just make one but I can,t even find that. Not sure what I'm going to going to do. Keep looking I guess.

Try NAPA Truck Parts or a heavy truck parts place. Lots of construction or agricultural equipment places have the right ends for the right battery cable as well.

I would use a braided copper welder lead for the wire since it is more flexable than the wire you use in regular electrical entrance applications.

Ford still has the cable for my 86 (same exact cable) but the price is outrageous. Something like 185 dollars.

NAPA also has the ring terminal ends that go down by the starter on the big cable. Solder them on instead of crimping them though, and then cover the bare wire and connector cup with heat shrink tubing.

My town has a starter/alternator rebuild shop that also performs electrical repairs. They stock such cables. Check out a place like that in your area?
