Mass air conversion

Whats involved in converting the stock system on my 1988 F150 5.0 to a mass air system? Parts and etc. I would like to do this to prepare for some future HP upgrades.

There are several ways to do it. You can get down and dirty and re-wire the stock harness to mate up to a mustang computer, and re-wire the injectors to fire sequentially and wire in a mass air meter. The easiest way would be to buy a kit from Ford motorsports. It is about $650 or so at summit racing, and it will be plug and play, no splicing. However, it has a very small mass air meter that would eventually need upgrading should engine modifications neccessitate the additional airflow.
