Just figured this one out. The hour glass design of dipstick always leaves oil on top and lower part even if the oil level is too low for the oil to reach the XXXXX marks. Seems the oil gets pulled thru the tube and registers on the top/bottom leaving the middle oil free. So just because you see oil on that part of dipstick does not mean its overfull. Why do think ford used this design instead of the traditional "straight" stick?
