17" Wheels for 76 F-100 2WD??

Anyone happen to be running 17" wheels?? I bought a 76 F-100 2WD a few months ago with aftermarket aluminum wheels(15"). But I really don't like the looks of the wheels and the tires aren't that great!! Anyway, I found some pretty good deals on some 17" factory wheels from newer Dodge Rams or 2004 Durango's!! The tire diameter is about 1/2" to 1" bigger then what I currently have!! Any thoughts or ideas??

Thanks,
Rich

I don't think the bolt pattern is the same. Ford factory wheels will fit up to '96 F150, the lightnings had some good looking big wheels....

Go to some wheel/tire shops and ask them, they should have some stuff there, and they should also have catalogs to order you stuff.

The new Rams still have the 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern, so those rims should bolt right on. The Durangos are a 6 lug, are they not?

While the new(& old) Rams have the same bolt pattern, the wheels require a flat mounting surface. By this I mean, the dust cap on the fords hit the back of the rim. If u look at the dodge's, the disc is outermost, and everything is flush to it. The locking nut is internal....etc. I have a friend with the Ram 20's, and I tried to fit them on mine. It just dont work. You would need some perty healty spacers to make it work, then your wheels would be out too far.

The new Dodge has a 5x139mm bolt pattern.

So to recap...

The Dodge's have the same bolt pattern. The 2004 Durango now has 5 X 5 1/2 pattern. But the aluminum wheels won't work because the dust cap sticks out too far?? Then the chrome wheels should work as long as the hole in center is big enough because the center cap is removable?? So until someone comes up with more this is what I will be working with!! Thanks for all the info!!

If you want chrome wheels, you might consider some Cragar wheels. I am going to buy some 17's from them eventually and they come in 5X5.5 and I know at least 2 different backspacings.
