1991 F250 Stalling when warm
|
1991 EFI F250 W/460...once I'm at operating temp, when I come to a stop the truck kills as though it was turned off. There is no warning (sputtering ect) prior. If Im Im the highway, I may feel one slight surge, and I know at that point, the next time I come to a stop it is going to stall. The truck then will crank reasonably consistant, but will not start. I have to wait about 30 min. before it will start, but then will stall after a few miles of driving.
About a week prior to all these stalling problems, I over heated a number of times. I found a leaking hose and fixed it. Added back the antifreeze. After doing so no more over heating , but did have a stuck thermostat (had no interior heat for about one hour of driving, Temp gage fluctuated up and down But then it started to work, the heat I mean. The gauge stoped fluctuating also)
The reason I mentioned all that is because My stalling problem started after all that occuring.
This couldnt have began to happen at a worse time, Im in construction and things have slowed down ( work and thus cash flow) This truck has been reliable for darn near 7 years up until now.. so I cant complain... but just the same "she's" got to get fixed asap!!
I would Greatly Appreciate advice on where to start in correcting this problem
