While I was watching the Daytona 500 today, there was a commercial that showed this very fast moving truck(srt-10) as it passed up several houses and all you would see were doors landing at every house, 4 doors total. Eventualy the SRT parks in its drive way and an f150 supercrew passes by without any doors(all 4 blown off) and also a cavalire...What gives?? SRT is a race truck...that f150 was a work truck? what is the comparison? they should have added an offroad course and made the f150 an fx4?
I wonder what the real specs for the 05/06 lightning will be?
Sounds like a pointless commercial. I would hope the SRT could out run a super crew. But considering the overall quality build of the new f150 I doubt the SRT could blow its doors off.
the srt had a claimed 500 hp and ryan newman was driving it. Ford has a svt lightning concept with 590 hp and i wish they would make it but theres C.A.F.E.
The Ram SRT-10 is the "world's fastest production pickup" only because of it's top speed. And basically, all that amounts to is computer programming. A simple retune, and either truck could go faster and overtake the other in top speed.
On the drag strip, the SRT-10 still will not run off and leave a Lightning. The Lightning is still a stoplight warrior, and the best bang for the buck.
The 3rd gen L will almost certainly have an all aluminum 4V 5.4 with a blower and produce 500 hp and 550 torque with another 50 hp on tap from the Supercooler system.
Let Dodge have their fun. Their day in the sun will be short lived.
what bisnag said sounds much more likely, since they could just grab the 5.4 from the Ford GT (500hp/550tq.) and drop it in there. I have also heard that the same motor will end up in the new Mustang Cobra.
Sure the SRT -10 would beat a F-150 but what does ford have that can compare. If you wanna go off road we can get the F-150 and put it up against a 5.7 Hemi and see what happens.
