Just a simple question.....

Do dealers make any money on an A-Plan purchase? and if so do you know roughly how much? Thanks

Yes they make money on any plan they do, they get an immediate transfer from ford that is percentage based depending on the cost of the auto it can be anywhere from 750 to 1500 dollars. Then at the end of the year they get paid again, my dealer tried to tell me they only got $75.00 on plans.

Dealers get what's called dealer holdback and it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. For Ford it's 3% of MSRP. So even when they show you the invoice they've still got a tidy little profit that you can't see. Do a little research on the web and you can confirm for yourself.

Lightbulb

Im really not familiar with the Z plan, I got an "X " plan discount thru the Company I work for cause they have an exclusive Ford contract to refurbish their work fleet."A"plans are usally reserved for Employees and imediate family memebers, who work for FORD dealers or manufacturing plants, etc. Have to contact your local dealer and inquire on the "Z" plan. Sorry I wasn't any helpÉ

I think they are pretty much guaranteed at least 3% on all "plan" sales.
