Fuse 11 blown - smoke - won't run
|
I started my '94 350 w/ 7.3 IDI engine, started driving, smelled some electrical shorting, and the engine went dead. Fuse 11 in the engine fuse box was blown. Unfortunately, I didn't get the original diesel user manual when I bought my truck and the 3rd party diesel manual that I purchased didn't have the fuse description in it.
It appears that fuse 11 controls the glow plugs and probably the fuel pumps since when I turn the key now, I don't get the glow plug light and it won't start.
Prior to putting a new 20 amp fuse 11 in, I'm wondering if anyone has an idea on what failed so I can trouble shoot that first.
