Did you try doing a forum search for starter troubleshooting? I know there are a few posts in the past about starter problems... my first post was because of my starter.. I am pretty sure you will find what you are looking for. But if not, i know someone will put up a post that will help you too...

well first check battery if yes
is your starter solenoid working?

you can cheak by jumping the side closes to the battery with the pole closes to it if nothing
check connections if still not working take starter out and have tested. It's not all bad, if the starter is bad you have your core there already and it's just two bolts. Bonus

before all this make sure all connections are clean and tight.

Just last week I leaned some thing new. A 460 is hard to start when hot using a 4? gage wire. Not enough amps. I took it to a shop last summer and they told me it was a weak starter. What they didn't know is that it was a new starter. I guess they didn't get underneath to check connections. Any ways i took a 2 gage wire off another truck a weekago and now it starts like it should. Funny how we learn things. If I would have gotten a bigger wire it you have saved me a new starter and a trip to the shop!
