the wheel base will determine whether that driveshaft will work....longer wheel base, 3 piece driveshaft (front part, carrier bearing, rear part), shorter wheelbase, one piece driveshaft. what motor was originally in the 76. if a 302 or 351w, then motor should drop right in, if something else, might have to find mount towers, and not sure if the crossmember is in different location for the trans depending on 2/4 wd, auto, man....you know, the variables of transmissions.

If the original is a 360 you will need to stay with the FE engines. These are 352 ,360, 390 for plug and play. Anything else will take alittle work. i.e. motor mounts, belhousing etc.

ejustin3724 did i mention that gas is 86 cents per liter here 4.5 ltr per gal at 8-9 miles per gal .work is cheap money costly. would love tear down 360 put in 390 crank& rods and go from there but 302 tweaked lightly should give milage that i can live with.

Didn't see you are from Canada. I would go with a 351W just as good on gas as a 302 but better power. If your set on a 302 then go with a 300/6 about same power with better milage yet. It also bolts up just like the 302/351W combo. However get ready for the mods.
