Seriously
SHO's have the Yamaha Marine engine in them. They are WAY overbuilt and tough as nails (I have had 2 of them). Unfortunately the rest of the car leaves something to be desired.
Its a High revving engine, and making 300 ft lbs is a miracle, no matter what you do to it.
I have no doubts, this motor could handle the horsepower.. By the way, the redline was set on this engine at the point the ACCESORIES (water pump, alternator, compressor etc.) Started failing, not the motor itself. It can realistically pull 1000 rpm over readline if able and not hurt reliablility.
But squeezing another 430 HP out of it by just adding header and a charger sounds like its pushing it.. BUT if its true. Congrats!
Now go spend 1/2 that on the Vette and see who wins!! L

Call me dumb, but what is an SHO? I assume its some kind of Ford, but the only SHO I recall was the Taurus sedan? Ok I know I must be blind about this, but curiosity has the better part of me so please explain.

the 3.2 liter was bored to a 3.6 and has headman headers, vortech supercharger. ported and polished heads. I also got inner cooler, adjustable cams, nos and a computer chip. i have several other things invested into it too. its Definitely a sleeper.

too bad that half of the people dont know the sho's potential. Read the following
SHO Shop carries a complete line of performance parts for the Taurus SHO, whether it be for the street or track. Each part we manufacture is tested on our in-house Dynojet, which is the most accurate and respected dynometer on the market today, endorsed by NASCAR. While anyone can pin a horsepower rating on a part, we back it up with the Dynojet. Our team can make your SHO out-handle a BMW, stop like a Porsche, and out-accelerate a Corvette.
On the intake , the head has a smooth, vertical runner leading into two 35mm (1.38") intake valves. On the exhaust side, there are two 30mm (1.18") valves leading out through a smooth exhaust port. On the flow bench, in intake port flows 254 cfm and exhaust 190 cfm at .450" lift. These numbers are what you will typically find on a set of race heads for a 5.0L Mustang

i believe him, those yamaha engines are sick. they can pul 12 grand if it wasnt for the asseccories. id like to see a dyno of this just to prove to people even a taurus can make awsome power. also there was a 3.0L and a 3.2L yamaha v-6 offered. not sure if it depended on the year or MTX/ATX option. and yes they can be bored over...
