redline?

What is a good redline for a stock 292? 4000rpm? 5000rpm?

Well a stock 292 made about 185 horsepower @ 4200 rpms so I really would'nt see the need on a stock engine to turn it much more than that. Plus I'm sure your valve springs are'nt as strong as they used to be when new so 4000 rpms should be a safe place.
