Which would you rather have?

In the past I have owned chevrolet trucks and to say the least, I was not impressed. In august of 2001 I bought a used 2000 F350, Regular cab, V10, 5 spd Manual with 18,000 miles on it. About a week later my father bought a 2001 Silverado, He hasn't learned yet. So far my truck has only been in the shop for a front end leveling kit and larger tires. His truck however has been in the shop 5 times for poor quality and mechanical failure issues ie..air leak under the dash, heater blower motor replacment, head gasket leak, tranny coolant lines broke, door locks not working...He now has 10,000 miles on his truck. I love teasing him about his chebby.

I know which truck I'd rather have.

P.S. I paid $20,000.00 for my truck. He paid 28,000.00 for his. Sucker.

I'll ride a bike before I would ever spend money on a chebby. I used to work for a company that had a mixed fleet of Fords and Chebys. Nobody ever wanted to drive the chebys, so the Fords got twice the miles put on them and were still in the shop less. Same goes for other GM cars owned by my family. The last GM vehicle we had that was any good was a '74 Buick Apollo with a 350. Since then, I have never driven a reliable GM product.

In retrospect, I also seem to remember the piece of crap Ford Fairmont we had in the seventies- man was that a disgrace to the Ford name:-X23 ......

Just my luck, I guess.

I am really considering trading my Excursion for an Avalanche. I like all the plastic. Since the town my business is in is the self-professed plastics capital of the US, I felt that it would serve to support my local economy. With the truck in the shop all the time the same thing would be accomplished. Helping the economy by GM paying the mechanics. I feel that this is an important thing for all us Americans to do in this time of war. Buy a Chevy and help support your local repair shop & the great plastic industry in this nation of ours.

My wife will trade her van for a Pontiac Aztek. But only last year's model, as it has more plastic.

I say, who cares about crash survivability?!? As long as my mileage is good!

You guy's should knock on wood and be thankfull that your trucks have been problem free. If you recall my Super Duty has been nothing but a nightmare since day 1. New motor, new Tranny , and various other annoying problems all with less that 5000 miles. The GM at my dealer is putting together a deal, so he say's, to get me out of this truck and into a new one ( Ford of course what else is there). Bottom line is all manufacture's let a Junker slip by once and a while.

Yeah, what the h*ll is up with all that plastic?? I can't believe Chevy expects folks to buy a $40K truck that looks like it was made by Tupperware.:-X23 Jeez, it looks like an injection molding machine threw up on it!
