77 f250 power steering conversion

i have an f 250 with manual steering that i would like to convert to power. i already have a pump mounted and working and now need to know what gear unit to use and how to install it correctly. anyone? thanks... bri

if it is 2 wheel drive, 1/2-1 ton gearbox will fit. you will probably have to change the steering column also. most power boxes are longer than the manuals.
if you have a 4x4, and it has the power assist cylinder, you will have to get the box and shaft out of a late 77-79 4x4 truck. you will also have to have the tierods and draglink to make the swap.

sorry for the lack of info. it is a 4x4 with the original manual steering box currently installed. my biggest issue seems to be what unit to use and how to mount it (will it bolt right on?) while keeping the proper angles in the steering linkages. thanks

yep it will bolt right on. just be sure to get the tie rods from wheel to wheel.

A guy on ebay sells kits. I bought one about a year ago and it still works great.
