1940 Ford 1/2 Ton Panel Truck Seats

I'm working on a 1940 FORD 1/2 Ton Panel Truck. I need the two seats for it. Did they use the same seats on any other year models? I don't want to limit my search to just one year if at all possible. Thank you!

Hi the seats from 1937 to 1947 will be similar also some of the 2 door Ford cars form1928 and up have buckets that would work if you don’t care about originality. I put a set of 1966 Tbird buckets in my 1941 Sedan Delivery (6 way electric) and they are very comfortable.

Hello bubba22349, Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I am pretty much a stickler on getting the correct seats. I finally found a Ford part number for the '40 seats,81C826500. Now I'm trying to find if that same part number was used in later (or earlier models). Thanks again, I appreciate it!

Hi fubar72644, Your welcome I am new to this site and though I would see if I can find out some info on the 1941 Sedan Delivery's. Also looking to find some of the original parts for it. I do want to keep the stock look but someone turned into a street rod in the mid 60's. So all the original running gear is long gone along with part of the firewall and I think it would be hard and maybe expensive to find all the parts.

Fubar, a part number starting with prefix 81C indicates first model year of use was '38, so you can go as old as '38, and I would bet as new as '47 since the trucks are very similar from firewall back. the part number breaks down like this:
81C=first used in '38 year commercial
82=panel body style number
6500=basic part number for seats

Hey Gary M., Thanks for the info on deciphering the part #'s for the seats. I too have a sneaking suspicion that multiple years would be involved. Between people like you and Bubba, I may get this pup whipped. All the Best, Dennis
