Does anyone else have a truck that creaks in the front end when going over a bump............if so.......what is it? It is a 2000 Ranger 3.0 4x4 4-door Supercab. Thanks.
J-Rod...My 98 Ranger 3.0 does the same thing. Usually only for the first 15-20 minutes after I drive it. I don't normally notice after that. I'm a noob when it comes to working on my own car so I don't know. The only guess I could even hazard would be the shocks or tie rods.
J-Rod, I have a 98 3.0 L supercab, it just started doing that also last month... I just move more north that the truck has ever lived so I contribute the new noise to the cold weather. It stops creaking after the first 10-15 minutes of driving. It really likes to moan when turning, I checked the power steering fluid and it is fine, so I don't know. sorry. post back if you figure it out!
my 98 suspension makes all kinds of creaks and groans. ive always been told it was normal for 70,000 miles. i wish ford woulda stuck with the i-beams. the new stuff sucks
I'm with Dealford, sounds like you all have bad balljoints. And, there is a difference between 'normal' and 'common!!' Mine had the same creaking, moaning, squeeking. New lower balljoints on both sides and all the noise is gone. Have a shop check for any play/movement in your balljoints atleast.

I've looked under my front end to fix that little bit of a squeek and I can find a single zerk anywhere. I only hear it when I am doing some heavy off-roading when I am maxing out my wheel travel.
Well mine is a 96 extended cab and my front end is in good shape, mine only creeks when it is cold outside which here in texas isn't very often nor that cold.In some cases I would agree it could be the bearings, depending on the age of the vehicle,Mine I believe is in the springs when it is cold otherwise in nice weather no creeking noises
